Error 0xC004F074 usually appears when Office cannot contact Microsoft’s activation servers. Here's how to fix it:

1.  **Check your internet connection**
    
    -   Make sure you're online and try again.
        
2.  **Run Office as Administrator**
    
    -   Right-click on Word or Excel > “Run as administrator”
        
3.  **Open Command Prompt (Admin)**
    

-   Search "cmd", right-click > "Run as administrator"
    
-   Paste the following command and press Enter:
    
    **_cscript "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\Office16\\OSPP.VBS" /act_**
    
    (Change Office16 to Office15 or Office14 if using older versions)
