If you're using an older version of Windows like Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, you might be wondering whether you can upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.
Upgrading to Windows 10
Windows 10 works on most PCs made since 2010, including those with:
At least 2 GB of RAM
16–20 GB of storage
Any dual-core processor (Intel/AMD)
No need for TPM or Secure Boot
If your PC runs Windows 7 or 8.1 smoothly, there's a high chance it will also support Windows 10.
We even have step-by-step guides for upgrading from Windows 7 and Windows 8.
Upgrading to Windows 11
Windows 11 has stricter requirements. Your PC must have:
64-bit processor with 2+ cores
4 GB RAM or more
64 GB storage or more
TPM 2.0 chip (Trusted Platform Module)
Secure Boot enabled
Most PCs built before 2017–2018 will not meet the requirements without advanced workarounds.
Use Microsoft’s PC Health Check Tool to find out instantly if your system is eligible.
