# Fix: Windows Installation Stuck at 0%, 64%, or 100% – How to Proceed

This issue is common during both clean installs and upgrades, and it's often caused by corrupted files, outdated BIOS/firmware, or a compatibility issue.

If your Windows installation is **frozen at a specific percentage**, such as 0%, 64%, or 100%, it may feel like the process is broken — but in most cases, it’s either a fixable glitch or a temporary delay.

### 🔍 Common Causes

- Incomplete or damaged installation media (USB or ISO)

- Conflicts with external hardware (USB hubs, printers, etc.)

- Faulty RAM or disk errors

- The system is actually working in the background (especially at 100%)

- Outdated BIOS or Secure Boot/TPM misconfiguration

### ✅ How to Fix It

#### 1\. **Be Patient — Especially at 100%**

Sometimes the installer appears stuck, but Windows is working in the background (especially applying drivers or updates). If you're stuck at **100%**, wait at least **30–45 minutes** before assuming it's frozen.

#### 2\. **Disconnect Unnecessary Devices**

Unplug:

- External hard drives

- Printers

- USB hubs or wireless receivers
    Then restart the install process.

#### 3\. **Recreate the Bootable USB Installer**

If you haven’t already:

- Use Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool:
    [Windows 10](https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10)
    [Windows 11](https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11)

- Use a **different USB drive** if possible

- Connect via a **USB 2.0 port**, not USB 3.0

#### 4\. **Update BIOS (Optional, Advanced)**

On older systems, outdated BIOS or incompatible Secure Boot/TPM settings can cause freezes. Check the manufacturer’s site for updates or reset BIOS settings to default.
