If you’re seeing Error Code 0x80300024 during the Windows installation process, it usually appears on the screen where you choose a drive to install Windows.
What Causes This Error? This error typically appears when:
Multiple hard drives or partitions are connected, confusing the installer
There’s not enough available space on the selected drive
The drive has a previous failed installation or formatting issue
The drive is connected to a secondary SATA port or controlled by a non-primary controller
How to Fix ItDisconnect all other internal and external drives (USB sticks, secondary HDDs or SSDs)
Only leave connected the drive you want to install Windows on
Then restart the installation process.
If you want a full reset of the target drive:
At the Windows setup screen, press Shift + F10 to open Command Prompt
Type the following commands one by one:
diskpart
list disk
select disk X ← (replace X with the number of the drive you want to use)
clean
exit
Close the Command Prompt and click Refresh in the installer
Select the unallocated space and click Next
Note: This will permanently erase all data on the selected drive.
Enter BIOS/UEFI (usually F2, DEL, or ESC at startup)
Ensure your drive is connected to the primary SATA port
Try changing the SATA mode from RAID to AHCI or vice versa
Save and exit BIOS, then try installation again
