When you download Office from The Software Kings, the installer we provide already includes an automatic uninstall tool. This built-in feature can completely remove any previous Office versions from your system before installing the new one — saving you time and avoiding conflicts.
However, if you still need to uninstall Office manually (for example, if you want a clean system before reinstalling or switching editions), Microsoft also provides an official removal tool inside the Windows Get Help app.
Below are the updated, step-by-step instructions recommended by Microsoft.
Launch the Office Uninstall Tool
On your Windows PC, go to Microsoft’s official uninstall support page and click the Uninstall button to start the troubleshooter:
Uninstall Office from a PC (Microsoft Support)
This will download or open the removal tool. If your browser asks “Open Get Help?”, click Open to launch the Microsoft Get Help app.
Follow the Wizard to Remove Office
In the Get Help window, the troubleshooter will walk you through the process.
Select the version of Office you want to uninstall.
The tool will automatically remove all Office apps and related components.
When prompted, restart your computer to complete the removal.
Verify Office is Uninstalled
After rebooting, confirm that Office is no longer on your PC by checking:
The Start Menu (Word, Excel, etc. should no longer appear)
Control Panel > Programs and Features (Office should not be listed)
If you plan to reinstall Office, you can now proceed using your installer.
Windows 10 or Newer Required
The Office Uninstall Troubleshooter only works on Windows 10 or Windows 11. It will not run on older versions of Windows.
Best Method for a Clean Reinstall
Using the official Microsoft uninstall tool is the safest and most effective way to completely remove Office or Microsoft 365.
It ensures all Office apps and residual files are fully deleted, resolving installation problems or preparing your system for a fresh reinstall.
