If Microsoft Outlook gets stuck on the “Loading Profile” screen and never opens, you're dealing with one of the most common Outlook startup issues. This can happen after installing Office, adding an account, or importing data — and it's usually easy to fix.
Outlook might freeze or hang on launch due to:
A corrupted profile or PST/OST data file
An add-in that’s preventing Outlook from starting
An issue with cached credentials or connection settings
Antivirus software interfering with Outlook's loading process
This disables all add-ins temporarily.
Press Windows + R
Type:
Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts > Manage Outlook account
And remove + re-add the account if you're using Microsoft 365.
Old sign-in data can cause Outlook to freeze.
Open Credential Manager from Control Panel
Remove any credentials related to MicrosoftOffice16, Outlook, or MSOffice
Then restart your PC and open Outlook again.
A corrupted Office install can affect Outlook.
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
Select Microsoft Office, click Change
Choose Quick Repair, and if that fails, try Online Repair
